I’ve just watched the trailer, and this is the film the entire world has been waiting for with feverish excitement—the one everyone is dying to see. Let me tell you, there isn’t another movie that even comes close to this one.
We finally have a glimpse—the trailer—of Avengers: Doomsday, which is what we’re going to discuss here. What is this trailer all about? You’ll find all the details here regarding what’s in it and how everything is presented. The long wait imposed on us by Marvel Studios over these months and years is finally over, and we can now watch the trailer.
We know—being Marvel fans ourselves—that whenever Marvel launches a new trailer, everyone eagerly awaits it. There’s a certain magic in their movies that people want to experience; audiences truly love Marvel films.
Have you seen the poster? Yes, the one everyone is talking about—if you haven’t, you can see it below. It evokes such powerful emotions and features a brilliant concept; it looks like a mythological epic, and people are going wild over it.
Without further ado, let’s get to the topic at hand: the Avengers: Doomsday trailer. It runs for about 2 minutes and 26 seconds. Let’s dive into what we saw and the theories that are emerging from it.
The trailer opens with Professor Charles Xavier—also known simply as Professor X—and offers a glimpse of what looks like two worlds colliding. It is possible that what we are seeing isn’t an “incursion” event, but rather the aftermath of an attack on the school; we have to guess who might be behind it.
Some details might not click immediately, but if you listen closely to the opening, you can hear Robert Downey Jr.’s voice. At first, I thought it might be an X-Man speaking, but it was definitely RDJ. We hear lines like, “Something is coming—something that we may not be able to deter.” That voice sets a very serious and intense tone. I became certain it was RDJ when he said, “Before this day is done”—and right as that line plays, we get a glimpse of Doctor Doom. We finally saw him; even though it was just a side profile, it was incredibly satisfying.
When Doctor Doom delivers these lines, it is possible that his own world is on the verge of destruction due to an incursion, which is why he speaks of something coming that cannot be stopped. I’m 50-50 on this, though; we can’t tell for sure if this Doctor Doom belongs to the X-Men universe. Regardless, RDJ’s Doctor Doom looks like a total badass.
Later in the trailer, we hear the voice of Thor, the God of Thunder. As shown in the trailer, it is Thor who is rallying the Avengers. We also see glimpses of Wakanda, the Fantastic Four, and Sam Wilson as the current Captain America. And right there, we see both Gambit and Shang-Chi fighting. Neither you nor I know why they are fighting, so it is best to discuss these things only after watching the movie.
We have also seen the official look of the Avengers Tower—its exterior is complete, and it is where the Thunderbolts will be staying. If we set the superhero Sentry aside for a moment, what kind of superpowers do the others really have? Even the God of Thunder—our beloved Thor—is terrified. We’ve seen the two or three groups that will feature in this movie gathered together at the Avengers Tower, just as shown in the trailer. Thor bluntly states, “I’ve fought with many warriors in my time. They were far stronger than all of us put together. And they died.” He makes it clear that he and the others are nothing compared to the threat. However, I would call Ant-Man the MVP.
We have also seen Namor, and his new suit looks fantastic. Then there is that mysterious location filled with statues—a place we know nothing about. It is a ruined, devastated landscape where the sky isn’t even clear, and it is here that we witness a battle between the God of Thunder, Thor, and Doctor Doom. This battle likely takes place early in the movie; it certainly can’t be the climax, as Marvel wouldn’t reveal the climax in the trailer.
It is only after Thor fights Doctor Doom, realizes the extent of his power, and suffers a crushing defeat that he returns to the Avengers Tower to warn everyone: we are nothing compared to him, and we are all in for a world of trouble.
There are shots of the Xavier Mansion, including a fiery explosion at a location that initially looks like Doctor Strange’s New York sanctum—though it turns out not to be him. Immediately after, we see Cyclops on the verge of death; the editing brilliantly cuts from his explosive moment to Gambit slamming something onto the ground. When Avengers: Doomsday was announced, no one expected Gambit to play such a prominent role. If he didn’t die in Deadpool 3, it could well be the same Gambit appearing here. I won’t lie—it’s great to see Gambit and Shang-Chi fighting each other, though we’ll have to watch the movie to understand the purpose behind it. Just how significant will Shang-Chi’s rings be? Are they actually important? We’ll find out in the film.
But the excitement really peaked when we saw Loki in the trailer. Will Loki die? Even if someone knows the answer, let’s not spoil it—we’ll leave that for the movie. We also see the Fantastic Four visiting Wakanda to meet Shuri and the rest of the crew, including M’Baku.
The Mystique scene was incredible; she transforms into Yelena, leading to an intense “Yelena vs. Yelena” showdown.
After building up these spectacular moments, we hear emotional dialogue about returning as brothers and sisters, accompanied by music and scenes of fire everywhere. We see various characters in action sequences, culminating in Thor flying in and striking Doctor Doom with Stormbreaker—just as he did with Thanos—but this time, Doctor Doom doesn’t even feel a thing.
We have deep respect for Steve Rogers, but I was wondering—in a scenario where someone easily defeats Thor (the God of Thunder) and catches his Stormbreaker with just two fingers, what could Captain America possibly do? Yet, if he is in this film, there must be something significant about it, because we all love Captain America. The fact that Steve Rogers—our Captain America—appears at the end of the trailer implies something special; otherwise, why show him right before the trailer concludes? What role he will play in the movie is something we’ll only find out after watching it. We have to admit, that scene where Captain America takes Mjolnir from Thor at the end was absolutely amazing. Could an “incursion” perhaps be triggered by Captain America due to time travel? Seeing Captain America at the end was truly a breath of fresh air. I don’t have an answer as to why Thor was so shocked at that moment, though. We last saw Captain America as an old man, but now he appears completely youthful—sporting long hair and a magnificent beard. That’s likely why Thor tests him, challenging him to wield Mjolnir—and sure enough, we see him actually holding it. I believe this is the same Captain America we’ve known from the very beginning—not a new variant or someone from another universe.
After seeing Captain America and Thor, the God of Thunder, the final logo for Avengers: Doomsday is revealed—and it looked truly epic. Following that, the release date was shown, accompanied by a countdown; the film is officially set for a worldwide release on December 18, 2026—specifically in 4 months, 27 days, and 15 hours, as indicated at the end of the trailer. Additionally, the text “THIS FILM IS NOT RATED” appears below.
